Via di Castellina 39, Castellina - 51030 Serravalle Pistoiese (PT)

Founded in 1159, the church has been altered over time. The Romanesque façade and perimeter walls remain from the original structure.

The Church of Saints Philip and James rises above the village of Castellina, north of Serravalle. Originally part of the Castellina Molazzani castle, it was directly connected to the fortress, now vanished.

The Romanesque building, founded in 1159, features a simple façade, remodeled several times over the centuries, with interventions dating back to the first half of the 17th century.

The medieval bell tower has a simple structure resulting from 17th-century restorations, while the southern side features a semicircular window from the same period.

Inside, on the choir wall, is the painting Madonna with Child in Glory and Saints, created in 1628 by the Pistoian painter Alessio Gemignani, an artist featured in other churches and museum collections in the area.
